About
Who I am and where I trained.
I'm a postdoctoral fellow working with Sam Norman-Haignere at the University of Rochester, supported by an NIH F32 fellowship. Before that I did my PhD at MIT with Josh McDermott studying the perception of sound textures (e.g., running water, chirping birds, wind blowing, etc.) and their role in auditory scene analysis.
I record from the human brain, measure behavior, and build computational models to understand how we make sense of sound.
Outside the lab I enjoy teaching, outreach and making content about perception under the name psychophyshicks.
